SAS Update for Spring/Summer 2024

Happy Spring from Sonoma Art School! Look around to see nature in full creative force: bees are swarming, cherry trees are blossoming and grapes are budding. With that, we are happy to announce our upcoming after-school spring classes, Summer Arts Camps, as well as a new teen/adult printmaking workshop series. We are now a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with a goal of making art education affordable and accessible to students of all ages, cultures and abilities.

After-School Art Classes:

Our continuing 6-week sessions begin April 16 with classes for ages 3 – 5, 6 – 9 and 10 – 17. See more info.

Summer Arts Camps - July 1 - August 2:

SAS has partnered with the City of Healdsburg’s Community Services Department to offer a 5-week series of Summer Arts Camps for ages 6 – 9 and 10 – 17. The City’s generous Activity Assistance Program will help us offer needs-based scholarships to our students. More scholarship info here.

SAS is also offering a 5-week summer camp series for ages 3 – 5 at Healdsburg Community Nursery School. This sweet and magical nursery school is located in an idyllic little house with part sunny and part shaded play yard areas. We offer partial and full scholarships for these camps, as well.

Experimental Printmaking Workshops in July for Adults and Teens:

Accomplished printmaker Saruha Kilharu will be in Healdsburg from Delhi, India in July and is offering four 2-day workshops in a beautiful, naturally-lit and airy artists’ loft above the Healdsburg Running Club. Saruha recently graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, England. See Artists-in-Residence. Beginning and intermediate students can explore printmaking techniques such as drypoint, linocut and woodcut, monoprinting and book binding, sugar lift and salt etching. Link here. Students will gain hands-on experience with each of these techniques through demos and simple-to-follow instructions and guidance.

We hope you will join us soon as we have lots of creative fun coming your way!
